First and Second Grade Intown League
Intown teams are not entered in BAYS. They play in their own in house league. Boys and girls are on separate teams. The grades are also separated. The Intown program calendar generally follows the BAYS dates with a few differences. The season will be 8 weeks. They play once a week on Sunday afternoons. See Intown Program for more information.
U9 - U14 BAYS League
Starting at U9* (typically 3th grade) you must be age eligible to play in the BAYS league. Note there is an exception to this rule to sometimes allow a child to play with their grade. Contact Medfield Soccer for more specific info.
Determining your age group:
There are no age eligibility requirements for grades 1, 2, or 3(U9). You can play with your grade. This is because all Medfield programs at these ages are 'in house' or very local (grade 3 plays with Westwood).
Starting at U10 (typically 4th grade) you must be age eligible. Note there is an exception to this rule to sometimes allow a child to play with their grade. Contact Medfield Soccer for more specific info.
The 'soccer year' in Massachusetts starts on August 1. You must be age eligible on July 31st to play in an age group for the next soccer year(that fall and following spring).
To determine your BAYS age group for the next soccer year ask yourself this question:
How old will I be next July 31st? If you are 11 on that date, then you are eligible for U12 for the upcoming soccer year..
High School League
BAYS offers high school age groups (U16 and U18/19) in the spring only. HS age games are played on Sunday afternoons. The season is currently 7 weeks. Medfield Soccer will field teams in these age groups based on player interest. Players and/or interested coaches should contact us!
TOPSoccer is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any child with a developmental or physical disability.
Medfield's TOPSoccer is structured to the specific participants. Athletes are paired with a buddy who will act as friend, helper and enthusiastic fan. Modifications to the traditional game are made to meet the needs of TOPSoccer athletes and ensure that they have a positive, fun experience on the soccer field.
TOPSoccer will be available free of charge for Medfield residents in grades 1-8. Residents of surrounding towns may register on a space-availability basis for $20.
The four-week program is usually held at the Wheelock fields on Sundays the end of May and beginning of June.
